Abstract
Aquatic ecosystems are home to an amazing biodiversity, from microalgae to fish, which play a crucial role in their ecological balance. This book offers a detailed tour of the aquatic fauna of the Barcelona campus of the Universidad de los Llanos, the result of an interdisciplinary effort between students, teachers and graduates of the Biology program at Unillanos.
Through accessible descriptions, accompanied by illustrations and unpublished photographs, each chapter explores the secrets of microalgae, aquatic macroinvertebrates, adult odonates and fish, inviting the reader to discover their biological richness in aquatic environments.
This work not only seeks to highlight the scientific and ecological importance of the University's Barcelona campus as a biodiverse campus, but also to inspire a deep sense of belonging and responsibility towards the conservation of its bodies of water. This is a work that transcends the academic sphere, inviting both students and the community in general to admire and protect this valuable living museum.
