Abstract

From Protest to Revolution presents an approach from economics on social movements to show the similarities and differences with respect to the approaches and contents of other social sciences. The theme aims to give a human and collective sense to economics that is related to the use of knowledge in and for society. This is why the author applies his own method to narrate a scenario, which despite its nuances, appears conjunctural in the midst of the new and continuous national panoramas.

Author Biography

Omar Rey Anacona, Universidad de los Llanos

Economist from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He is a specialist in public finance from the Escuela Superior de Administración Pública -ESAP, Master in Economic Sciences from the Universidad Nacional and a doctoral candidate in History from the same university. Professor Rey has served as coordinator and director of important projects and studies in the public and private sector, advisor to local, national and international entities and consultant on economic, social, cultural and political issues. He is a full-time university professor at the Universidad de los Llanos, supported the creation of the Economics program at this institution and is director of the study group Territorio y Desarrollo.
